Ce Chabbat, nous commençons la lecture du 2ème livre de la Torah
Chemot en hébreu et L’ Éxode en français .
LA PARACHA EN BREF :
Les Enfants d’Israël se multiplient en Égypte. Se sentant menacé par leur nombre croissant, Pharaon les réduit en esclavage et ordonne aux sages-femmes israélites, Chifrah et Pouah, de tuer tous les garçons dès leur naissance. Constatant que celles-ci ne lui ont pas obéi, il ordonne à ses soldats de jeter les bébés des Hébreux dans le Nil.
Un garçon naît à Yo’heved, la fille de Lévi, et son mari Amram, puis est placé dans un panier flottant sur les eaux du fleuve, pendant que sa grande sœur, Myriam, observe de loin. La fille de Pharaon découvre le bébé, l’élève comme son fils et lui donne le nom de Moïse.
Jeune homme, Moïse quitte le palais et découvre les difficultés qu’endurent ses frères hébreux. Il voit un Égyptien qui bat un Hébreu et tue cet Égyptien. Le lendemain, il voit deux Juifs qui se battent. Lorsqu’il les réprimande, ils révèlent son acte de la veille et Moïse est forcé de s’enfuir à Midian. Là-bas, il sauve les filles de Jéthro, épouse l’une d’entre elles – Tsipporah – et devient berger des troupeaux de son beau-père.
D.ieu apparaît à Moïse dans un buisson ardent au pied du Mont Sinaï et lui ordonne de se rendre chez Pharaon et de lui dire en Son nom « Laisse partir Mon peuple pour qu’il puisse Me servir. » Le frère de Moïse, Aharon, est désigné pour lui servir de porte-parole. En Égypte, Moïse et Aharon rassemblent les Anciens d’Israël pour leur annoncer que le moment de leur délivrance est arrivé. Le peuple croit à cette annonce, mais Pharaon refuse de les laisser partir et intensifie même les souffrances d’Israël.
Moïse retourne parler à D.ieu pour protester : « Pourquoi as-Tu as fait du mal à ce peuple ? » D.ieu promet que la délivrance est proche (chabad.org)
LA NAISSANCE DE MOCHÉ
Yokheved, la mère de Moïse, le déposa secrètement dans un panier sur le Nil. Il fut découvert par la fille de Pharaon, Bitya, qui l’adopta. Bitya employa Yokheved comme nourrice de Moïse et ainsi, Moïse grandit dans son foyer familial. Yokheved garda Moïse à la maison, de sorte qu’il rejoignit la maison de Pharaon vers l’âge de 12 ans. Pharaon savait que Moïse était juif, mais il pensait qu’en l’élevant comme un Égyptien, son intelligence exceptionnelle et ses talents pourraient être mis à contribution au sein du gouvernement du pays. À l’âge de 18 ans environ, Moïse vit un contremaître égyptien battre impitoyablement un Juif et il le tua. Comme Moïse le craignait, Pharaon eut vent de la chose et le condamna à mort.(Chabad.org)

- Why does the verse say "And Yosef was in Egypt"?
1:5 - This verse adds that, despite being in Egypt as a ruler, Yosef maintained his righteousness.
- "...And they will go up out of the land." Who said this and what did he mean?
1:10 - Pharaoh said it, meaning that the Egyptians would be forced to leave Egypt.
- Why did Pharaoh specifically choose water as the means of killing the Jewish boys? (Two reasons.)
1:10,22 - He hoped to escape divine retribution, as G-d promised never to flood the entire world. Also, his astrologers saw that the Jewish redeemer's downfall would be through water.
- "She saw that he was good." What did she see "good" about Moshe that was unique?

5:1 - The elders were accompanying Moshe and Aharon, but they were afraid and one by one they slipped away. Hence, at the giving of the Torah, the elders weren't allowed to ascend with Moshe.

Le hall de gare est désert.
Un homme se présente au guichet pour acheter son billet. La guichetière, sans même lever le nez, lui dit - Pas d'énervement ! Chacun son tour ! Le voyageur, étonné, regarde autour de lui et ne voit personne. Il renouvelle sa demande et reçoit la même réponse de l'employée.
Alors, énervé, le client se penche et la gifle. La préposée se lève en hurlant :
- Mais quel est l'abruti qui vient de me gifler ?
Le voyageur répond très calmement :
Avec tout ce monde et cette cohue, impossible de savoir !
