Where should the sukkah be built?

 

The sukkah is built under the roof of the sky, and if it is built under the roof of the balcony, etc. - the sukkah is invalid. One must also be careful not to build the sukkah under a tree that is attached to the ground. The sukkah should not be built in a place where there is a bad smell, such as near trash cans on the street.

 

Is it allowed to place material to use as walls  for the sukkah?

 

The walls of the sukkah should be suitable to withstand a regular common wind. If the wall sways in the wind, even a slight sway, it is not considered a proper partition, and it is invalid for use as a wall for a sukkah. Therefore, sheets that are placed as a wall for a sukkah that is located outside, where there is a wind, this sukkah is invalid, because the sheets move in the wind and all the berachot that one makes in the Sukkah are berachot levatala (blessings in vain).

 

However, if you make such a sukkah inside a walled courtyard where there is no wind, and you make sure to tie the sheets well in such a way that they will not move even in a regular wind the sukkah is kosher.

Here we are on our way to SOUKKOT, a Feast which is an important commandment, and an important Mitzvah to achieve and accomplish!

 

This is a quick reminder that the Sukkot Dinner will take place this

 

Sunday October 9th, 2022 at 7.15 PM

 

It will be a dinner with a splendid menu of great luxury and high quality, well organized with your place reserved for you in the Sukkah with your wife or with your family.

 

 

The ridiculous price subsidized by the Maghen Abraham, is only 50.00 per person.

 

 

Delight your wife and family by inviting them over – they'll be grateful! While performing a great Mitzvah.

 

As there is a very small gap between Yom Kippur and Sukkot and  we have Shabbat between the two holidays, you can either pay on www.maghenabraham.com on ‘’donate’’ and mention SOUKKOT. Or by cheque.

Ceci est un petit rappel que le Diner de Soukkot prendra place ce

 

Dimanche 9 Octobre à 7.15 PM.

 

Ce sera un Dîner avec un menu soigné de grand luxe et de haute qualité, bien organisé avec votre place résérvée pour vous dans la Soukkah avec votre femme ou avec votre famille.

 

Le prix dérisoire subventionné par la Maghen Abraham,  est seulement de 50.00 par personne.
