Hanukah celebration for children

Dear parents

Maghen Abraham sends an exclusive invitation to our young families who are members of our congregation to celebrate together the festival of lights in a joyous and festive atmosphere, at the rec room located at 5255 Ferrier

We invite all the children up to the age of 10 to come

to the rec room, on Wednesday December 13th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Pizza and Sufganiot will be served

Parents and children will sing along at the lighting of the Hanukiah .

We must know exactly the amount of people, children and parents , who will be attending .
Please confirm as soon as possible

Jacob s’installe en Terre Sainte, à Hébron, avec ses douze fils. Il a une préférence pour Joseph, alors âgé de 17 ans, dont les frères jalousent le traitement de faveur, comme la précieuse tunique multicolore que Jacob lui a confectionnée. Joseph raconte à ses frères deux rêves qu’il a faits qui prédisent qu’il régnera sur eux. Leur rancœur s'en trouve encore attisée

Shimon et Lévi projettent de le tuer, mais Réouven les convainc de le jeter plutôt dans une citerne : son intention est de revenir le chercher plus tard pour le sauver. Pendant que Joseph est dans la citerne et que Réouven s’est absenté, Judah persuade ses frères de vendre Joseph à des ismaélites dont la caravane passe à proximité. Les frères trempent la tunique de Joseph dans le sang d’une chèvre et la montrent à leur père, lui faisant croire qu’une bête sauvage a dévoré son fils.

Judah se marie et a trois enfants. L’aîné, Er, décède jeune et sans enfant. Onan, son frère, en vertu du lévirat, épouse sa belle-sœur, Tamar. Mais Onan se refuse à donner une progéniture à Tamar et connaît lui aussi, pour cette raison, une fin prématurée. Judah répugne alors à donner son troisième fils en mariage à Tamar. Déterminée à obtenir une descendance de la famille de Judah, cette dernière prend les apparences d’une courtisane et séduit Judah lui-même. Quelque trois mois plus tard, Judah apprend que Tamar est enceinte et ordonne son exécution pour crime de prostitution. Mais elle produit les gages que Judah lui a donnés ; celui-ci constate la vertu de sa bru et reconnaît sa paternité. Tamar donne naissance à deux jumeaux, Perets (ancêtre du Roi David) et Zera’h.

Joseph est conduit en Égypte et vendu à Potiphar, le ministre en charge des abattoirs de Pharaon. D.ieu bénit toutes les actions de Joseph et il se trouve bientôt intendant de toutes les propriétés de son maître. L'épouse de Potiphar désire ce jeune homme beau et charismatique. Lorsque Joseph repousse ses avances, elle l’accuse auprès de son mari d’avoir tenté de lui faire violence et Joseph est jeté en prison. Joseph gagne rapidement la confiance et l’admiration de ses geôliers qui lui confient une fonction importante dans l’administration de la prison.

Dans cette prison, Joseph rencontre le maître-échanson et le maître-panetier de Pharaon, incarcérés pour avoir offensé leur maître. Eux aussi sont en proie à des rêves, que Joseph leur interprète. Dans trois jours, leur dit-il, l’échanson sera rétabli dans sa position et le panetier pendu. Joseph demande à l’échanson d’intercéder pour lui auprès de Pharaon. Les deux évènements se produisent effectivement, mais l’échanson oublie Joseph et ne fait rien pour lui
